Privacy Policy
Last updated: May 14, 2026
1. Introduction
Welcome to FlipForge ("we," "our," or "us"). This Privacy Policy explains how we handle information when you use the FlipForge flipbook builder template. FlipForge is a client-side application — it runs entirely in your web browser and does not transmit your data to any server operated by us.
2. Information We Collect
FlipForge is designed with privacy at its core. Because the application runs entirely in your browser:
- No personal data is collected by us. We do not operate servers that receive your data.
- Local Storage: The application uses your browser's localStorage to save your flipbook projects, editor settings, and theme preferences. This data remains on your device and is never transmitted externally.
- PDF Content: Any PDFs you upload are processed entirely within your browser using PDF.js. Your document content never leaves your device.
3. How We Use Information
Since we do not collect personal information, we do not use, share, or sell any user data. The locally stored data is used solely to:
- Save and restore your flipbook projects between sessions
- Remember your theme and editor preferences
- Provide a seamless editing experience
4. Cookies & Local Storage
FlipForge does not use cookies. We use browser localStorage for the following purposes:
- flipforge-theme: Stores your light/dark theme preference
- flipforge-editor: Stores your current flipbook project data (pages, settings)
- flipforge-welcomed: Tracks whether the welcome modal has been shown
You can clear this data at any time through your browser's developer tools or settings.
5. Third-Party Services
FlipForge loads the following resources from third-party CDNs:
- Google Fonts (fonts.googleapis.com): Loads the Inter typeface. Google's privacy policy applies to this request.
- PDF.js (cdnjs.cloudflare.com): Mozilla's PDF rendering library. Cloudflare's CDN privacy policy applies.
- QRCode.js (cdnjs.cloudflare.com): QR code generation library (editor only).
These CDNs may log standard web request information (IP address, user agent). We recommend reviewing their respective privacy policies.
6. Data Security
Your data is stored locally in your browser and is as secure as your device. We recommend:
- Using a secure, updated browser
- Not sharing your device with untrusted users if you have sensitive flipbook content
- Exporting important projects as JSON backup files
7. Your Rights
Since all data is stored locally on your device, you have full control:
- Access: View your data in browser DevTools → Application → Local Storage
- Delete: Clear localStorage or use browser "Clear site data" to remove all FlipForge data
- Export: Use the editor's "Export Project" feature to download your data as JSON
- Portability: Your exported JSON files can be imported into any FlipForge instance
8. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Changes will be reflected with an updated "Last updated" date at the top of this page. We encourage you to review this page periodically.
